Guitar amps and bass amps - whether you rely on your valve amp for regular performance, recording or personal enjoyment you need it to work reliably, to sound great and to remain safe.
Valve amps are often heavy and contain fragile parts which make them vulnerable to damage, but the upside is that they are practical to repair and provided components are available they can be maintained to work indefinitely.
Valve amplifiers use dangerous voltages and valve circuits need specialist knowledge to diagnose and fix faults. TruVibe can provide the following technical services;
- Valve amplifier repairs - An amp repair service which begins with an initial inspection, estimate of costs and first hour of labour for £20 (additional labour at £20 per hour if necessary) replacement of minor components and PAT test included, additional components charged separately. No fix no fee !.
- Valve replacement and biasing - Keep an amp sounding tip top or improve or alter the tone. Valves need replacing periodically. How long depends on how often and hard the amp is used but over time they deteriorate and will eventually fail so it's best to have them replaced before they start causing problems. Not all valves need "re-biasing" this is usually to the output valves when they are replaced because they need their operating current adjusting to an optimum level .
- PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) - Amps that are transported regularly need particular care and attention to ensure that they continue to be safe. Performance venues require PAT test evidence for electronic equipment used by performers so they can minimise their public liabilities. PAT testing involves a series of standard checks and tests and costs £2.00 per item. I will provide a certificate of tests performed and also keep records on behalf of the customer.
